David Cox Architects is an established RIBA Chartered architecture practice based in Preston city centre, Lancashire. The firm traces its roots back to the 1930s (originally founded as Derby Fazackerley) and has been based in Preston since 1945. It is now led by principal architect David Cox and has a small team of 6–10 people. They specialise in imaginative, client-focused architectural design, covering everything from small domestic extensions and residential projects to large commercial schemes. Their work includes new builds, conservation/listed buildings, and high-profile developments across the UK, such as the recently proposed 30-storey Altura tower that would become Lancashire’s tallest building. The practice is known for blending creative design with commercial awareness, sustainability, and sensitivity to historic contexts, and they’ve won several civic trust, conservation, and mayoral awards.
