A Hands-on introduction to aesthetic dermatology using silicone models and saline injections, combining MSK facial anatomy with OSCE injection practice in HA223 Anatomy Lab.
New to this event will be the inclusion of wound healing immunology.
Botox Injection Workshop: Hands-On Skills Session
Due to additional demand, an extra date has been added - tickets are still very limited for this event and are open to students at the University of Lancashire & elsewhere.
This interactive workshop provides a safe and engaging introduction to aesthetic dermatology. Participants will gain hands-on experience using silicone facial models and saline injections to practice injection techniques in a controlled and supervised environment. The session is perfect for students looking to build confidence in practical skills, reinforce facial anatomy knowledge for MSK blocks, and gain essential injection practice before the summative OSCE.
The workshop will begin with a short teaching segment on facial anatomy, covering key structures, high-risk areas, and the principles of safe injection technique. Participants will then label important vessels and landmarks on silicone models, and inject around them - reinforcing anatomical knowledge. The session will also include tips for safe technique, patient positioning, and real-world considerations in aesthetic procedures.
*New to this event will be the inclusion of wound healing, focusing on the immunological mechanisms behind this*
By the end of the workshop, students will have a foundational understanding of aesthetic injection principles, improved practical skills, and awareness of safety considerations. No prior experience is required, making this an ideal opportunity for students interested in exploring aesthetic medicine, enhancing confidence handing needles, practicing OSCE injection station, or considering a future career in this field.
