Department: Social Enterprise

Reports to: Licensed Trade Co-ordinator, Social Enterprise Manager

Pay band and salary range: £12.21 per hour (plus holiday pay)

Working pattern: Part-time between 6–18 hours per week.
• Shifts provided weekly on Wednesdays
• Flexibility required (may include evenings and weekends)
• Not working most holidays (some one-off events)
• Flexible around your University work

Role summary: Are you a foodie who loves cooking and working in a fast-paced environment? Join our fun and dynamic Lampworks team to help deliver delicious, high-quality food to students and staff. You’ll work closely with chefs and team members, gaining valuable experience in food preparation, customer service, and kitchen operations.

What you’ll do: Key responsibilities

  1. Prepare food according to recipes and specifications.
  2. Ensure all food is cooked to the highest standard.
  3. Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
  4. Assist with stock control and ordering.
  5. Provide excellent customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities: Specific activities

  1. Work with the Lampworks team to consistently produce quality food.
  2. Support Union and University events, collaborating with other departments.
  3. Follow food safety, hygiene, and allergen standards to maintain Lampworks’ 5-star rating.
  4. Help reduce wastage by following correct stock procedures.
  5. Assist at events (including evenings and weekends when required).
