Are you ready to make a real impact on student life? We’re on the lookout for passionate, thoughtful, and driven students to join our Trustee Board as Student Trustees — and this year, we’ve got four incredible opportunities, including two reserved spots for first-year students! 

 

💼 What’s the Role? 

As a Student Trustee, you’ll sit at the heart of decision-making in your Students’ Union. You’ll help guide our strategy, ensure we’re acting in students’ best interests, and bring the lived experience of current students directly into the room where big decisions happen. 

This is not just a volunteering roleit’s a leadership opportunity that will: 

  • Boost your CV with high-level governance experience 

  • Develop your confidence, communication, and strategic thinking 

  • Give you a voice in shaping the future of your Union

Time Commitments:  

  • Approximately 5-7 hours per month as a Student Trustee, which includes a monthly 3-hour long Board meeting, usually held 4pm-7pm. These will typically be held in person in the Students’ Union building.  

  • Reading materials before each meeting. 

  • Attend two development days per year with the other Trustees. 

  • Have the opportunity to attend training and networking events, build relationships with other Trustees and take an interest in the Union’s activities. 

Term in Role: Up to 3 years (or until you cease to be enrolled as a student at UCLan whichever is sooner) 

Salary: Voluntary Position (unpaid) 

Location: Preston Campus/Online

Interviews:Week commencing 10th November 2025 (online)
