On Wednesday 7 October 2026, O. Sonia Ejenavi, the School Representative of Law and Policing arranged an archeology gathering with the aim of inspiring the revival of the archeology society. The event also focused on examining the importance of academic community representatives and providing insight into the duties of the Student Union also known as the SU, SU Representatives and School representatives. Concerns such as low engagement, inexperience and personal commitments were raised directly challenging whether the society could remain existent.

Former Chair of the Archeology Society, Eve Clinton, suggested hosting introductory tutoring sessions which would be anchored by previous committee members to guide junior years to ensure their successful integration within the system. Community Organisers, Brenda Okoth and Taqdees Ur-rehman, expressed the capability of pushing this idea forward and discussing it with the Student Union so as to directly involve interested meeting participants.

The session also encouraged students to take on representative roles within the course and to engage with feedback requested by the Student Union so as to improve the welfare and wellbeing of students while also tailoring support to archeology students.

Sonia informed meeting participants on open nominations with respect to becoming academic community representatives defining the role as significant with regards to speaking up for others. She also mentioned that it may become demanding as it directly involves working with different year groups while balancing university life, but would also be rewarding in the long run. This would result from the effort put in to help students properly understand the importance of their feedback and what it could influence or change.

A trivia session marked the end of the gathering along with pizza to appreciate those who were able to attend. Students left feeling hopeful about the re-establishment of the Archeology Society and expressed great interest in being a part of its revival.
