The Farm Animal Vet Society (FAVS) is thrilled to announce a packed calendar for events as the Society kicks off the year. With a blend of educational opportunities, social events, and fundraising activities anyone with anyone in an interest in Farm Animals, Farm Animal Veterinary and Animal Production.
Following the success of the Fresher's fair, the committee have been working hard behind the scenes to organise a range of events designed to bring members together and foster a farm-y community at the SU.
One that the committee is incredibly excited for is the "Dress as Your Favourite Animal" Social where they are encouraging student to get involved in a fun and farm-y way by dressing up as their favourite animal and meet them for a drink (or 2!) for an evening of fun and getting to know eachother. There will be challenges and games as well as a best dressed award!
The society is also looking forward to welcoming industry experts for a range of incredibly educational talks. Zoetis are visiting to educate on Bovine Respiratory Disease, exploring one of the most impactful illnesses and welfare concerns in the Bovine industry. Following this CEVA are visiting to focus their talk on lameness in dairy cows and the importance of herd health in the Dairy Industry.
Speaking on behalf of the committee, the FAVS Chair said: "We're incredibly excited about the programme we've put together this year. These events offer fantastic opportunities to learn from industry professionals, meet like-minded students, and get involved with the farm animal community. We can't wait to see both new and returning members at our upcoming events."
With this exciting mix of events, the Farm Animal Veterinary Society is looking forward to a fantastic year ahead! Keep your eyes peeled for more events on the SU Communities page.
