We’re looking for students eager to make change, stand for their community and make sure student voices are heard across the University.
This year we have two sets of roles you can stand for, Academic Community Representatives and Liberation Representatives. Take a look below to read more about the different roles available to you.
Academic Community Representatives
Flexible, approximately 2–3 hours per week.
Voluntary Role
As an Academic Community Rep, you'll represent a defined academic community, helping to ensure student voices within your community are heard, build a strong sense of belonging, and work with the School Rep to create positive change. You'll be supported by the Students' Union staff team, who will help you engage students, gather insights, collaborate with Course Reps, deliver community building activities, and contribute to meaningful improvements in both the academic and wider student experience.

Liberation Representatives
Flexible, approximately 2–3 hours per week.
Voluntary Role
As a Liberation Representative, you’ll represent a community of students who have historically faced barriers and underrepresentation through their academic journey. You’ll make sure their experiences and views are heard across the University by representing them in key decision-making-spaces including our Students' Council and Students’ Assembly.
We have 5 Liberation Representative roles available to nominate yourself for:
- Disabled Students Representative
- LGBT+ Students Representative
- Racialised Students Representative
- Trans* Students Representative
- Women Students Representative

How to stand for election
Nominations run from Friday 2nd October to Monday 12th October and the process is simple:
That’s it. You don’t need previous leadership or campaigning experience. If you’re passionate about representing students and working collaboratively to create positive change, you’re exactly who we're looking for!

Voting: 16th - 21st October
Results Day: 22nd October
