Thank you to everyone who joined the vigil for Carla-Maria and took the time to come together in her memory. We are deeply grateful to all who paused for reflection and helped create a space of respect and remembrance.
We are now working closely with the University to create a permanent memorial for Carla-Maria, using the flowers shared at the vigil to later form part of the permanent memorial.
The tributes placed at the memorial, such as letters, cards, drawings, and teddies, have been carefully collected and are being passed to Student Support. They will then work with Carla-Maria’s loved ones to understand how they would like these items to be cared for and whether they may be included in a permanent memorial.
Thank you as well to everyone who signed the physical book of condolences. This will now be kept safe by the University, who will ensure it is shared with Carla-Maria’s loved ones. If you couldn’t sign the physical book, for anyone who would like to leave a message.
Thank you again to all those who paid their respects and to everyone who has shown such kindness and care during this very difficult time.
