Inter Faith Week takes place from 9 - 16 November and aims to unite communities of religious and non-religious beliefs and raise awareness of the rich diversity of faith communities across the UK.
More than ever, it is important to increase understanding of different faiths and offer support and respect to those around us.
Many people find that faith-based support, or just talking to someone, can provide comfort and you can find out more about the support available at the University at a number of Inter Faith Week events or by reading the Faith, Beliefs and Spirituality page of the Student Hub.

Faith and spirituality support all year round
The University’s Oasis Faith and Spirituality Centre offers a place of faith, support, peace and friendship for all students and colleagues, regardless of faith and religion. You do not have to follow a religion to access the Oasis Faith and Spirituality Centre, it is there for people of all faiths and none.
Many friendships are made, interesting conversations initiated, and support and information provided for those struggling with university or home life.
The Oasis Faith and Spirituality Centre and the facilities at Burnley and Westlakes campuses can provide:
-
A peaceful space to rest and reflect, either by yourself, or alongside one of our trusted and supportive chaplains.
-
Spaces for worship, prayer, meditation and celebration by people of different religions, faiths and beliefs
-
A faith and spirituality team to assist students and colleagues in the pursuit of their spiritual, moral and philosophical understanding for a range of faiths
-
Multi-faith prayer spaces, Muslim male and female prayer spaces, quiet spaces, a library with books exploring spirituality and self-development, and a series of workshops which allow for inter-faith dialogue
-
A range of workshops and events throughout the year covering varying faiths, worldviews, and wellbeing issues.
Religious and spiritual societies
At the Union, we have a number of religious and spiritual societies, all led by students and supported by us. You can view a list of these societies here, and directly enquire about meeting times and upcoming events. Select the 'Faith and Culture' filter to see the latest societies and if you can't find one that matches your needs and beliefs you can always give us a message and create your own!
