We want to support student entrepreneurs by helping their products get seen and bought by fellow students and university staff. However, we also recognise that starting a business takes money. That’s why we’re reinvesting unused profits from previous Craft & Food Fairs back into student businesses, offering grants of up to £300 to help cover resources or other start-up costs. This project is here to help you get started. Whether you already sell homemade goods or have a brand‑new idea, this is your chance to test it out with some financial support and guidance.
You don’t need to be an expert or already making money — this project is about helping you learn and grow.
What can the grant be used for? The grant can be used to help cover things like:
- Materials or ingredients
- Equipment or tools
- Packaging or branding
- Set‑up costs needed to get your idea off the ground
Why take part?
- Get real experience running a business
- Build skills for your CV (planning, budgeting, selling, marketing)
- Earn money from something you enjoy
- Be part of Freshers and showcase your work to new students
Successful applicants will also receive a FREE stall at our next craft and food fair , giving you the chance to sell your products on campus and really kick-start your business.
