We had a great turnout at last week's Student Parents Get Together! 👨‍👧

It was a valuable opportunity to meet and chat with student parents and listen to their experiences of balancing study and family life.

As a 'widening participation' university, it’s important that we understand the practical challenges our student parents face.

Many spoke about the difficulties of arranging childcare when timetables are released late or change at short notice and how this affects attendance and placements. 🧸

These honest discussions help us see where more flexibility and support could make a difference.

It was also encouraging to see one particular student keen to start a 'Student Parents Society' to build connection, peer support and a stronger community.
