Welcome to the Debate Society!
Join the UCLan Debate Society, a friendly and inclusive group that promotes critical thinking and public speaking through engaging discussions and debates. We meet bi-weekly for casual debates, where members can share their views and sharpen their argumentative skills in a relaxed, student-led environment. Whether you’re nervous about speaking in front of others or just curious to try something new, this is your space to grow. Each month, we host tournament-style debates, encouraging research-based arguments on complex topics. Open to all students, regardless of background or experience, we offer a supportive space for diverse perspectives. We also plan fun socials, including quiz nights, collaborations with other societies and lots of other fun things on the way!
