A place for all things adventurous.

If you have an interest in the outdoors, then this is where you belong! We are very inclusive and do not have a minimum level experience to join!

We run lots of trips ranging from day excursions to weekend trips, and these are always priced cheaply costing just enough to cover accommodation and transport. Trips vary from climbing, walking, caving, navigation, and winter activities; so, there is a large variety of trips to go on for everybody.

Joining the UMC is a great way to meet like-minded people to go on adventures with.

Weekly sessions from October 2025:

Wednesday - On Wednesdays we all meet at Preston Wall (West View leisure centre) from 1pm onwards.

(For cheaper entry to club climbing sessions please make sure you have pre-purchased a ticket from our SU page, or you will be charged the standard wall entry price)

Socials - Socials are held every Wednesday night and vary from themed nights to chilled pub evenings. Not all are drinking so do not be put off, socials are a fantastic way to make new friends. Information regarding the social will be sent out the week before, giving you loads of time to prepare for it if needed.

There will be a variety of trips throughout the academic year - please make sure you are a registered UMC member for access to all the events. We will have a Whatsapp group chat where all info will be posted, the link will be emailed to everyone that buys membership, please get in touch if you don't receive it!

Follow us on Instagram for more information, look forward to meeting you!
