The University of Lancashire Medical Research Society is dedicated to fostering a strong academic research culture within the student community. We believe medical research is fundamental to understanding disease, improving patient care, and advancing clinical practice.

Educate
We deliver practical workshops and teaching sessions on research methodology, systematic reviews, critical appraisal, and the publication process. We also provide tailored guidance on building research portfolios, enhancing CVs, and preparing for postgraduate applications such as the Academic Foundation Programme.

Establish
We aim to strengthen an academically driven research culture by building a sustainable network that connects students, mentors, and faculty members across the medical school.

Engage
We actively collaborate with other medical schools and research societies through joint events, partnership initiatives, and shared opportunities to widen student involvement in medical research.

Every year, our student groups elect a new committee to lead their group into the next academic year. Being part of a committee is a fantastic opportunity to get more involved in the community at the University of Lancashire, meet new people, and develop valuable skills that will enhance your CV. You can run for a position on the committee, provided you are a member of your group. Students elected through this process will begin their role on 1 August 2026 and serve until 31 July 2027.
