University is not always a straightforward journey. Some students thrive and feel at home. Others start to question whether they should stay, take a break, transfer, or leave their course altogether.

We are hosting an online focus group to better understand the experiences behind these decisions. What makes students feel like they belong and want to continue their studies? What challenges make students consider leaving? And what support, changes, or opportunities might make a difference?

This conversation is about understanding the real student journey. Whether you have felt confident about staying, have considered leaving at some point, or know someone who has struggled with that decision, your perspective matters.

Your insights will help the Union better understand the factors shaping students’ decisions and how we can work with the university to improve support and the overall student experience.

Participation is open to all students, and you do not need to have considered leaving your course to take part.
