Partnering with Hyndburn & Blackburn Angling Society to install barley straw in one of their lakes, a natural method to reduce algae growth and improve water quality for wildlife and anglers.
This event collaborative with Hyndburn & Blackburn Angling Society aimed at improving lake health using a simple, eco-friendly technique. Barley straw has long been recognised as a natural way to inhibit excessive algae growth in freshwater systems. As the straw slowly decomposes in the water, it releases compounds that help prevent algal blooms without harming fish, plants, or invertebrates. This not only supports healthier aquatic ecosystems but also enhances water clarity and quality for both wildlife and recreational fishing. Feel free to meet us there at 11am or message our instagram to travel as part of a group.
