Starting a new leadership role can feel exciting and a little overwhelming. This session will introduce you to everything you need to know to get started as an Academic Community Rep, helping you understand how your role fits into the wider Students' Union and University community.

We'll explore the purpose of Academic Communities, what it means to represent and build a community of students, and the key responsibilities you'll take on throughout the year. You'll learn about the meetings, activities and processes you'll be involved in, discover the support available to you from the Students' Union, and start thinking about your priorities and goals for the year ahead.

By the end of the session, you'll feel confident about your role, understand what is expected of you, and have a clear plan for how you'll begin connecting with students and creating positive change within your Academic Community.
