This session is designed for newly elected Liberation Reps who want to understand the decision-making, voting and governance responsibilities that come with their role.
Being a Liberation Rep means more than gathering student feedback. It also means playing an important role in the democratic decision-making structures of the Students' Union and contributing to wider liberation movements.
This session will explore the committees, meetings and decision-making responsibilities that form part of the Liberation Rep role. We'll look at how Students' Assembly works, your responsibilities in setting priorities and agendas, and how your vote can help shape the direction of the Students' Union. We'll also introduce opportunities to engage with national liberation activity through the NUS and discuss how local and national representation connect to create meaningful change.
By the end of the session, you'll feel confident participating in meetings, making informed decisions on behalf of your community, and using your representative role to influence change at both a local and national level.
