This session is designed for Academic Community Reps and Liberation Reps who want to bring students together, strengthen their communities and create engaging opportunities for students to connect and get involved.
Strong communities don't happen by accident. Whether you're representing an Academic Community or a Liberation Community, creating opportunities for students to connect is one of the most effective ways to build engagement, understand what matters to students, and create a sense of belonging.
This practical session will explore how Academic Community Reps and Liberation Reps can plan and deliver successful community-building activities. We'll share ideas for events and engagement opportunities, discuss what makes an event meaningful and inclusive, and explore how community activities can support your wider representation goals.
We'll also look at the support available from the Students' Union, including funding, resources and promotional support, as well as how Community Organisers can work alongside you to help turn ideas into reality and take some of the pressure out of event delivery.
By the end of the session, you'll feel confident identifying opportunities to bring students together and know how to access the support available to make your plans a success.
